03 Jul Burt’s bees cruelty-free lip shimmers
Burt’s Bees made its debut in South Africa earlier this year. If you watched my Instagram stories, you’ll know how excited I was that eco-friendly cosmetics were becoming more prevalent.
It’s winter and the dry Johannesburg air is harsh on my skin. My lips suffer too and that’s why I generally carry about 5 different lip products with me at all times. I have a couple of favourites, Burt’s Bees being one of them.
They’ve just launched a range of lip shimmers that not only keeps my lips moisturised and soft, but also looking cute and tinted. The shimmers are packed with vitamin E, shea butter, beeswax, sunflower oils and peppermint oil; and come in 11 shades. What I love about Burt’s Bees is that it’s 100% natural and 0% tested on animals. Pretty much a win-win for everyone.
There’s something quite satisfying about using cosmetics that you know is ethical, eco-friendly and not tested on animals. I know it’s nothing big, but every little bit helps. But, can you imagine if all of us replaced just one product in our beauty routines with an ethical one or every time we run out, we replace it with one? It won’t be such a small gesture anymore, it would make a huge difference.
