18 Jun Quick recipe: healthy ice cream
I know it’s winter, but honestly, I believe it’s our right to have ice cream whenever the craving hits. Here’s a healthy ice cream recipe to keep us from falling into the winter junk food trap.
I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and I’m sure we have that in common. In my search for some food inspiration, I came across what seemed to be the most amazing healthy ice cream alternative. It’s made from, wait for it, frozen bananas! I had to try it out, obviously!
As it’s the same concept as using frozen bananas for smoothie bowls, I already knew that I’d like it.
The video below has a couple of different flavour options for you to indulge in. It’s so easy and takes almost no time at all to make…it’s just the freezing part that takes an hour. I made the chocolate peanut butter one and it was delicious. The texture was the same as ice cream! If no-one told me, I wouldn’t have known that it wasn’t the real thing. You can easily make it vegan by replacing the milk with soy or almond milk or any other cow milk alternative you prefer.
A big bonus is that it is low in calories and full of vitamins and minerals. Now you can tell people that ice cream is good for your health.
