Starting my day off with a green smoothie has never been this easy or tasty.
I got into the whole smoothie thing at the beginning of the year. I was convinced that it would be a fad and I would give up on it. Well, it’s been six months and I am still happily drinking my smoothies and have now also added the green smoothie to my routine.
At first I was sceptical. I didn’t think something THAT green could taste good, right? Boy, was I wrong. It’s actually delicious, perhaps even more so than my smoothie bowls.
1/4x cup of raw oats
1x cup of spinach
1x green apple
1x celery stalk
1x frozen banana
1/4x cup water
1x tbsp of whey protein
First off, you need to blitz the raw oats in your blender until it’s a fine powder. I like doing this to avoid getting clumps in my smoothie. Next, add in the spinach and the water and blend until smooth. Add in the rest of the ingredients and blend. If you like your smoothies a bit runnier, add in more water.
Your green smoothie is ready. Pour into a glass and enjoy the goodness! This generally keeps me going all morning. I like to alternate it with the fruit smoothie bowls to mix things up a bit, but there really are no rules.
