Review: The Philips Airfryer

I was given a Philips Airfryer for a couple of weeks to try it out.

I was excited when the package arrived because I’ve heard so much about it from Nafisa and Tiana. They kept telling me how “life-changing it was for them”. I was eager to see if it would really make such a huge difference. It promised to make my meals a bit healthier due to less oil usage.

Everyone knows that I love anything with lots of oil and butter, so it makes sense that if I can have my favourites made a bit healthier, I don’t have to cut it out of my diet.

I had a couple of my favourite food lined up to test. I used it to make vegetarian patties, potato wedges, oven-baked chips, scones, cupcakes and nacho chips.

The tech

It uses TurboStar technology which means that it generates fast superheated air to fry your food. Because of this, there’s no need to pre-heat, which saves a lot of time and also on your electricity bill. The Philips Airfryer was designed for pure convenience from its design; the TurboStar technology to its cleaning.

My thoughts

I was intimidated by this piece of machinery at first because the design of the Philips Airfryer is just so sleek. I was afraid that I would break it.

Once I read through the instructions, it was easy to use. And to be honest, I could have figured it out. The Philips Airfryer is extremely user friendly.

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and not only does it cook my food in a lot less time, the food actually comes out tasting delicious. I know, I was sceptical too – less oil surely can’t mean it will still taste great! Best part? It fries, bakes, grills and roasts.

The Philips Airfryer is perfect if you’re cooking for one or two people as it obviously doesn’t have as much space as your built-in oven. Or, alternatively you can use it in batches and you should be good to go if you’re catering for more people.

The verdict

I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. It might have fryer in its name, but the Philips Airfryer is the ultimate low-fat fryer. It comes with a recipe book and you have access to over 200 recipes if you prefer the app.
